Call for Artists: Sauti za Busara 2025 - Zanzibar

Call for Artists is now open for the 22nd edition of Sauti za Busara festival, set to shake the walls of Stone Town, Zanzibar during 14 – 16 February 2025.
Artist Criteria: The festival gives preference to unique music with a cultural identity connected to Africa, women artists or groups led by women, young and emerging talents, positive and socially relevant messages, and live performances.
Application Requirements: You must submit all the necessary documents listed below by the deadline on July 31, 2024:
- Link to your Music In Africa profile (recommended) - Latest recordings (2 MP3s max)
- Recent live performance video links x2 (format MP4, each 200mb max)
- Two high-resolution promotional images in JPG format (minimum 2MB each)
- Stage plan and technical rider
- Artist Passport Information
Expenses Covered: If selected, the festival will cover expenses for participating artists and one crew member, including a modest honorarium, per-diems, accommodation, local transport, visa costs, festival passes, invitations to events, artist promotion, and more.
Selection Process: The selection committee meets in August to finalize the line-up, and applicants will be notified of outcomes before September.
NB: Artists from outside the region are usually required to find their own travel sponsors and the festival will support where possible.
