Mzansi Reggae Summer Festival Against Gender-Based Violence And Femicide: #BlessAYut - Call For Donations

22 November 2024

As we gear up for Mzansi Reggae Summer Festival taking place at Lebo's Soweto Backpackers on the 7th of December 2024, we are reminded that the spirit of community goes beyond just music and celebration. This year, the festival will not only be a lively showcase of reggae talent but once again serve as a platform to address pressing social issues affecting our society and a way to focus on doing good in the world.

A Festival with a Cause

While most of the people congregate to appreciate the beauty of reggae music, Mzansi Reggae Summer Festival invites  everyone present to join in for the School Shoes Drive Initiative. You are encouraged to come with a pair of new school shoes (size 12-5) that can be donated. A simple pair of shoes from you can change a child’s life by giving them the confidence they need to step into a new school year in January 2025.

How wonderful it will feel when a child receives a new pair of shoes, knowing that someone cares enough to invest in their future. Such a gesture can enhance their education and inspire them to be ambitious.

Together We Can Fight Gender-Based Violence

This music festival is meant for enjoyment and entertainment but also serves as a medium to draw attention to gender-based violence and other social vices. We can amplify the numbers and the voices that should be used to fight against these issues, which should never be tolerated in any society. Let us work together to give hope and create a better tomorrow for our children, free from such vices.

"My Child is Your Child" Project.

Many children in our communities face the harsh reality of not having basic school supplies and uniforms, which can hinder their ability to attend school and thrive academically.

In alignment with Mzansi Reggae Summer Festival mission, "My Child is Your Child" project seeks to provide essential support for vulnerable children in our communities and aims to ensure that no child is left behind in their quest for education.

To combat this issue, they are kindly asking for donations of new or gently used school uniforms that meets the dress codes of local schools. Comfortable and durable shoes appropriate for school, and School bags. For more info please contact Sista Swazie on WhatsApp: 072 110 8510
