Also known as the Original Social Worker, The Shepherd, or Mr. Shumba, Teba's musical career took off in 1996 when he began recording with the kwaito group Skeem. Their debut song "Waar Was Jy?" not only won a prestigious South African Music Award (SAMA) for "Best Township Pop" in 1997 but also showcased Teba's exceptional talent and passion for music.
Signed to Ghetto Ruff, Teba and his band provided the soundtrack for the popular TV series "Yizo Yizo", further solidifying his presence in the South African music scene.
