Ky-enie King has spent the last few years behind the music scene honing his uniquely raspy voice in the up-stroke rhythmic world of reggae and world music that has come to embrace him.

Refining his artistry after many years of performing throughout Jamaica, the Caribbean, the USA and Europe, successfully putting out hit-after-hit, he is now reemerging with a new acoustic gospel sound that reaches a new level of emotional depth, vulnerability, and vocal range, in what is sure to be a instant favorite with universal audiences. Ky-enie’s song, “Real Friends,” 

Departure from his traditional, passion-filled, ballads, captures the emotional turbulence of his many relationships over the years, putting forth a record that challenges us as listeners to examine the quality of our bonds, and even calls into question the value that we bring to our connections with the people in our lives. “Real Friends” conjures up themes of loyalty, love and human value that deeply resonate in our collective psyche overcast by today’s darkened social climate.

Ky-enie gave listeners a taste of his new music at Oregon’s Annual Harvest Festival on October 12th, which left the audience enthralled by the soulful singer’s ability to strike an emotional chord in the spirit of the crowd. His musical performances seem to always generate an instant fan-base. With its official release on November 1st, listeners can now stream Ky-enie’s “Real Friends” song on Spotify, Apple Music and all digital platforms. Fans, and new listeners, will have another opportunity to see Ky-enie perform “Real Friends” live at upcoming shows while on his promotional tour. 

The song is a part of a larger musical project produced by Richard Roache of Digital1 Muzic, with elite mixing engineer Dwayne “Firewayne” Cowans, dropping soon with some notable collaborations from Llamar “RiffRaff” Brown and Paul “Computer Paul”

Henton; this upcoming EP will certainly deliver on the promise of a new, fresh and innovative sound. Born in St. Ann’s, Jamaica, Ky-enie has been composing and writing music for almost two decades that continues to deliver those “benevolent sounds” that won over earlier fans. He describes his music as 'Eclectic Reggae mixed with Dancehall, threads of Alternative Rock and a splash of Acoustic Soul. Ky-enie has shared the stage with world renowned artists: Shaggy, Chronixx, Alborosie, Ky-Mani Marley, Gyptian, Collie Buddz, Morgan Heritage, Gentleman, I Wayne, and Dexter Daps. In 2020, Kyenie collaborated with California's Water the plants Records Label to produce the single "Let Love Lead The Way," (feat.Bobby Castro and Wise Intelligent). Some of Ky-enie’s influences include Bob Marley, Tracy Chapman, The Script, and many others.

Known for his electric uplifting stage presence, Ky-enie says, "I've always loved to perform. The audience energizes me, it doesn't matter if it's one person or a million. I refuse to fall short on a performance." Currently, Ky-enie is performing live shows, and cooking up a new album for his beloved fans.
